Fake a

A long-established vintage clothing shop in Harajuku. Among vintage enthusiasts, it is known as one of the best — a destination that handles pieces of genuinely high quality. Their Levi's and Lee vintage selection runs the full range: from rare deadstock and unwashed examples so pristine they create the uncanny sensation of stepping back to the 1950s and buying new, to well-preserved 501s and 101s from across the decades.

Leather and military are another strength of the shop. 1940s military leather — A-2s and beyond — along with original Buco J100s appear in stock with regularity. Their souvenir jacket and aloha shirt selection is equally formidable. For vintage American clothing overall, the breadth of selection and the consistency of quality are arguably unmatched in Japan.

Levi’s 501XX 1954

The Levi's 501 has a long history and an established vintage secondary market, with examples ranging from the 19th century to the present. This article introduces the 501XX — the model that collectors most often identify as the definitive 501, and the one I love most.

Lee 101-Z 50’s Center Black tag

Originally made for cowboys, the 101-Z sits higher in the rise and cuts a slightly roomier silhouette than the 501.
